We're heading into month seven of quarantine and working from the dining room table has final taken its toll on my body. I've got new pains popping up daily and I am playing whack-a-mole with ointments and pills to get rid of them. In the office, I had a mechanical standup desk where I could press one button and be sitting or standing in a matter of seconds. I had a mat for standing and to relieve any back or leg pains and a chair that probably cost close to $400. Flash forward to today where I migrate between the couch, the bed, the dining room table, and most recently, the kitchen counter!? Yes, I've made a standing desk out of the kitchen counter and propped my monitor up on six books. It ain't pretty.
But in a two bedroom house where my fiancé has taken over the spare bedroom as his office, I don't have many options. Being the WFH nomad that I am is no longer working and I need to find a place to call my home and get comfortable. I have no idea how long this will last after all! So, I'm finally biting the bullet and buying a desk for our living room. I've spent the week scouring the internet for standing desks, writing desks, ladder desks and all the other styles I can find. Which made me realize, I wonder who else is throwing in the towel? Let's do a round up!
